Dr Jan Weile has extensive professional experience as a former Head of Department for Clinical Microbiology/Molecular Biology and Clinical Chemistry in the laboratories of various maximum care hospitals (Robert Bosch Hospital in Stuttgart, Heart and Diabetes Center NRW and LWL Bochum University Hospital), dealing in particular with cases of infection associated with intensive and transplant medicine, in which he also had a keen research interest earlier on in his career. He covers all disciplines of modern laboratory medicine, but focuses primarily on clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology and immunohaematology/transfusion medicine. He currently heads up the automated laboratory in the Clinical Chemistry Department.
